Jennifer Hine – Executive Director

Jennifer has served as the executive director for Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good at Western Washington University since 1995. She has led the coalition to help higher education advance the public purpose of colleges and universities, educate students for the workforce and civic leadership, and build partnerships to cultivate vital and sustainable communities.  She believes that by engaging students in communities and building campus/community partnerships, we can improve the social, environmental, and economic challenges and injustices we face now and into the future. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington, an MA in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle, and recently earned an MBA from Western Governor’s University. Jennifer has served on multiple local and national boards that support civic and community engagement. She was recognized as one of the top “150 Victories for Humanity” in 2003 and 2004 by Antioch University and as a finalist for the Professional Woman of the Year in 2009 by Whatcom Women in Business. In 2023 she received the Advancing the Field - Distinguished Leader Award by the Western Region Continuums of Service Consortium. When not working, Jennifer can be found playing pickleball, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and exploring locally and internationally.

Jenny joined Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good in 2021 after 13 years at Western Washington University in a variety of roles. She is enthusiastic about connecting higher education with communities and engaging students in meaningful work. She received her BA and MBA at WWU. Outside of work, Jenny is often chasing her two boys around the yard with her husband Sean, as well as cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Amy (she/her) joined the Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good team in January 2022. Prior to this, she served as the City of Bellingham’s Parks Volunteer Coordinator, overseeing stewardship, environmental education, and ecological restoration programs in parks that reached up to 6,500 volunteers per year. She also worked at North Cascades Institute for 12 years, developing and leading youth leadership, wilderness conservation, and community and neighborhood programs for underserved youth. She has supported AmeriCorps members in almost of her positions throughout her career and is even a 2x AmeriCorps alumni herself. In her free time, she loves mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, multi-day river trips, birding, gardening, camping, and adventuring with her husband and two incredible kids.

Christina (she/her) is honored to be part of this small but mighty team here at Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good who thoughtfully and diligently support CLEC AmeriCorps members and their supervisors. In her spare time she plots what she will do in her spare time. In this week she would seek out: swimming, tai chi, walking, laughing and seeing a sunset.

Arielle Knowles – AmeriCorps Member Engagement & Leadership Development Coordinator

Arielle Knowles (she/her) is the AmeriCorps Member Engagement and Leadership Development Coordinator. She received her Master of Public Health from the University of Washington and has an undergraduate background in psychology, sociology, and disability studies. In her leisure time, Arielle likes to go to museums, bake, knit, play Pokemon, and watch exciting shows. She also spends time with her cat, Pansi.

Kian DaggettCLEC AmeriCorps Program Assistant

Kian Daggett (He/Him) is a CLEC AmeriCorps Program Assistant working as administration support for the team. He joined the program to get involved with the community and support people who are taking positive action. He is a Western Washington University student with educational focus and interests in communication, history, and philosophy. He enjoys drawing, reading comics,  watching sports, going on walks, and spending time with his partner, Allie and his tortoise, Hebo. Kian can likely be found wandering around campus in the rain or at a nearby coffee shop sketching.

Emma MagnusonCLEC AmeriCorps Program Assistant

Emma (she/her) is currently earning a B.S. in Psychology, B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature with a minor in Latin American Studies at Western Washington University and loves to learn. She enjoys painting landscapes, reading historical fiction and spending time in the great outdoors.
