Justin Guillory

President, Northwest Indian College

Justin was appointed as the President of Northwest Indian College—located on the Lummi Indian reservation in Bellingham, WA—in July 2012, after serving over five years as the Dean of Academics and Distance Learning and Dean of Extended Campus Sites.  He has over 14 years of direct work experience in higher education, eleven of which are at NWIC.  Justin’s education background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and a Master’s and PhD in Higher Education Administration from Washington State University. His doctoral dissertation focused on the experiences of successful Native students in higher education and how they used education to give back to tribal communities. Guillory, a direct descendent of the Nez Perce Tribe raised on the Nez Perce Indian reservation in Lapwai, Idaho, also has African American and Hispanic ancestry.  Justin and his wife have three children.
