The 2016-17 WACC VISTA Team enjoyed a gray and drizzly in-service training at Antioch University in downtown Seattle last week.
Session topics included: food insecurity on college campuses, gracious space as a community framework, the important of resilience, educational equity gaps, creating inclusive and respectful service-learning opportunities, and, of course, how to translate their VISTA service onto resumes, cover letters, and grad school applications. Members who began in August 2016 are halfway through their service year and are looking ahead to the post-VISTA transition. The team also welcomed three new members who began serving this past winter and are already immersed at their sites. Meet the current WACC VISTA Team here.
A special thank you to our gracious hosts and facilitators from Antioch University!
